This meme relates to “The Black Cat” by Edgar Allan Poe because it portrays how the cats reacted when they saw the violent nature of the narrator. His cat, Pluto, noticed how the narrator treated his other pets and whenever the narrator started coming around, Pluto avoided him. One night when the narrator came home intoxicated, he didn’t like how Pluto avoided him so he grabbed him and cut one of his eye with a knife. In this image it looks like the cat jumped because it was scared and this is a perfect example of how Pluto also felt. Pluto’s fear grew more and more as the narrator’s personality and behavior towards the pets started to changing.
